Christina Murphy of Old Smokeys Boots was able to stop in and share her story with the NStyle crew last week. The retired LA actress was a delight to interview with her love and passion behind her work shining through.
Answered from a prayer asking for guidance, Christina quit her job as an actress and became obsessed with making bags and boots. She now shops at vintage stores and boutiques around the world, finding boots she connects with to start the transformation process. A lot of her inspiration comes from the antique leather belts that she attaches to the boot she finds.
Her in-house workshop is where all her magic has happened during her two years in Nashville. After pressing in some buttons myself, I can say that a lot of hard work goes into each product, making every one unique.
Christina has made custom boots for John Osborne of The Osborne Brothers, Big Kenny’s wife, Eli Young Band spouses and Lucy Hale. She looks forward to growing her company and potentially working with Kelsea Ballerini, Maddie and Tae, Jana Kramer and Miranda Lambert. Christina’s work isn’t just for celebrities though- you can find her merchandise at www.oldsmokeyboots.com. Her custom boots, bags and home décor are a hot commodity though, so keep your eye out for products being released on her Instagram @oldsmokeyboots before they sell out!
